Knull : My Theory

 With Venom 3 in theatres lets discuss the future and what Knulls purpose can be in the Sony universe with a deep dive into comics.

The Birth of Darkness

Born in a primordial void, a place of absolute nothingness, Knull was a being of pure darkness. His existence was a stark contrast to the cosmic powers that existed, and he sought to challenge their dominance. To this end, he forged a weapon from the darkness itself: the All-Black the Necrosword.

This sentient blade was more than just a weapon; it was the first symbiote. Realizing its potential

Creation of Symbiotes:

Eventually Gorr came to get the necrosword and defeated Knull. A weakened Knull then recuperated on the planet and realised tjat he could attatch himself to lesser creatures. Knull began to create more of these creatures, using them as tools of conquest and domination. His goal was to snuff out all light and life in the universe.

The Rebellion and Klyntar

However, Afer getting defeated by Thor on his conquest to earth , the connection between the Grendel (symbiote dragon which came to earth sent be Knull) waa severed and the symbiotes were freed they themselves eventually rebelled against Knull's tyranny. They created a prison planet, named Klyntar, to imprison him. This planet became the home of the symbiote species.

My Theory 

I think with the mention of the codex in Venom The Last Dance, Knull has ordered his dragons ( like grendel from comics ) to get every codex which is actually a part of the DNA left behind when a symbiote leaves a host from every host who was possessed by a symbiote. This is comically accurate since in the comics knull with the help of carnage collected every codex using which he overloaded the hive mind which weakened Klyntar and allowed him to escape.

Also since Venom is the reason he could not get the codex from earth , he will come back and want to get revenge againdt earth as  he did in comics after Thor defeated him and severedhid connection from Grendel.
